WMF Perfect Plus pressure cookers

Pressure cookers are making a serious comeback, and today’s “second generation” pressure cookers are stylish, safe and far more efficient.  There are now many makes and models available from all parts of the world, and with such a choice of features, there is virtually one for every budget.  These new modern pressure cookers include several pressure settings and multiple pressure safety release systems making them 100% safe.  The new stainless steel pressure cookers, with the thick aluminium 3-ply ‘sandwich’ base, prevent burning hot spots through efficient heat distribution and with the improved vent and pressure release systems, make them easier than ever to use.

Pressure cookers have been around for about 100 years but many cooks are only now discovering the many advantages offered by cooking under pressure.  Today’s pressure cookers have advanced pressure regulating systems, eliminating the need for a lot of water while cooking, and because pressure cooked foods require less cooking liquid, water soluble vitamins and minerals are retained and vegetables retain more flavour and colour.  Pressure cooked food is always succulent, tender and full of flavour and pressure cooking tenderises the toughest meats.

Because food cooks at a much faster rate, a pressure cooker means less energy is needed and therefore less heat is generated (a definite plus in the hot weather). Kitchens and apartments are certainly less affected by cooking smells.  In fact, modern pressure cookers save around 60% - 70% of cooking time and thus offer a substantial saving in both time and costs.

In today’s world, where you are faced with busy schedules, demanding jobs and family commitments and too little time, the pressure cooker is the perfect solution for fast, delicious, nutritious and economical home-cooked meals.  You’ll find that there is no end to the variety of dishes you can cook.  Because of the versatility of a pressure cooker it also makes an ideal companion for camping, caravanning and boating and you will quickly realise that the pressure cooker is the ideal partner in the kitchen.

If you are looking for a piece of cookware that is fast, easy to use and healthy, nothing can compare to a pressure cooker.  So whether you are a novice who wants to start pressure cooking or you just want to upgrade that old model that you may have inherited, now is the time to buy a new pressure cooker.

Evinox Europe pressure cooker The Pressure Cooker Centre offers the most comprehensive choice of pressure cookers at the very best all year-round prices in Australia (delivered to your doorstep at around 30% to 40% less than normal over-the-counter retail prices all-year-round to most Australian destinations). For the list of models available and prices see PRESSURE COOKERS - Price List.  For additional details regarding these models and help in choosing a model and size, scroll down to see "Choosing a Pressure Cooker".

CHOOSING A PRESSURE COOKER

This section is not intended to be comprehensive as it will eventually be covered in greater detail in our new Website which should be published in the not too distant future. However, and in the meantime, we have added this brief summary to assist you in choosing an appropriate pressure cooker and to answer some of your initial queries. We have also added a brief description of some of our pressure cooker range to further help guide your choice. Once you have had a chance to read through the information provided here, we welcome your call (Free Call in Australia & New Zealand) with some information about cooking preferences and size and age of your family, etc., so that our expert staff can help you choose the model and size that best suits your needs and budget.

Additional questions like how big is your familyand will the family grow, and what about when you have guests. There are so many delicious meals you can cook in a fraction of the time (spend less time in the kitchen and more time with your guests). Alternatively, you can cook twice as much and therefore have another meal already prepared for tomorrow. As such we therefore tend to recommend a 7 to 9 litre which offers more versatility, particularly if you want to do a roast or even a cheesecake for example. One day (if not already) you will perhaps be running 2 pressure cookers (either 2 x 7 or 9 litres or maybe a 5 litre and an 8 or 9L), that way you can also do your rice or vege's quickly and at the same time. Plus of course, the larger one can double as a good stock pot. In the meantime, here are some answers to your initial queries.

The answer to your first question "Aluminium or Stainless Steel?"; Aluminium offers a definit price advantage, so we carry a small range of quality aluminium pressure cookers including the larger commercial pressure cookers that are generally always in aluminium. Stainless steel, however, is easier to clean, inert (doesn't tarnish with time or corrode under the influence of some harsh acidic foods that might otherwise sometimes be the case with aluminium) and is therefore better for appearance and long term durability.
This is particularly more so now that all the modern stainless steel pressure cookers have a thick aluminium "sandwich" base which offers the heat diffusion properties of the aluminium without the downside.

The new stainless steel "second generation" pressure cookers also include many features and safety systems that didn't always exist on many old model aluminium pressure cookers.  The extent of these is mostly the reason for the different prices as all the stainless steel pressure cookers that we offer are of similar and good quality.  The exception to this is the top-of-the-range German and French pressure cookers that offer excellent workmanship and quality of finish.  These are the TEFAL Clipso, FISSLER, SILIT, KUHN RIKON and WMF pressure cookers which are made of excellent quality 18/10 stainless steel with very thick sandwich base and some addition features not offered by other brands. H
ere is a little additional information on some of the different models that we have available:

There are a lot of "budget" cookers on the market, some of which we would not recommend. However, in the medium price range, the EVINOX Rapid & Europe models offer excellent value with 6 independant safety features including 4 safety pressure release systems, very thick Thermal base and with a pressure indicator with 3 pressure settings upto 15.4 psi pressure which makes them the fastest cookers in Australia.  We can also recommend the FAGOR Future & Duo pressure cookers as an excellent beginners model. Simple and easy to use, these models have 4 safety systems with 3 independent safety pressure release systems, thick thermal base and with 2 x preset pressures, also run at 15psi pressure (the faster the cooking, the healthier and more flavoursome is the food), and also offers good trouble free operation.  All these models, by their higher pressures, also offer full sterilisation, thus killing any harmful bacteria during the cooking process.
